Out and About

The local village of Lessingham has The Star Inn, a friendly pub about a 15-minute walk from the site, serving traditional pub food. Within 2 miles, The Ingham Swan offers a finer dining experience. Further afield, well-known places to eat include The Gunton Arms and The Suffield Arms.

The Broads National Park is on our doorstep, with more than 200 miles of waterways, windmills, market towns and lovely riverside settings to explore. Wroxham and Potter Heigham are two of the main boating centres in the area and are both within easy reach.

The campsite is also a short distance from the attractive villages of Horning, Ludham and Potter Heigham, giving you easy access to useful local facilities, places to eat and scenic spots to explore.

Wroxham is around a 20-minute drive away and is known for Roys department store. The town also has a good choice of eateries, bars and shops to explore.

Wroxham and Hoveton railway station is a useful option for exploring Norfolk by rail, with regular services to Norwich and connections towards the north Norfolk coast, including Cromer and Sheringham.

Our nearby town of Stalham has a wide range of independent shops, including a traditional greengrocer, bakery, butcher and deli, cafés and pubs, along with Tesco Supermarket and petrol station.

For beach lovers, a 1-mile path just outside the site entrance takes you to our local beach at Eccles-on-Sea. Cart Gap is a short walk along the beach and has Smallsticks Café, a great place to stop for a bite to eat and a drink. A little further along the coastal path is Happisburgh, known for its distinctive lighthouse.

Sea Palling beach is a short drive away and offers additional beachside facilities, making it a good option for families.

Other family day-out options include BeWILDerwood and ROARR!, the UK’s largest dinosaur-themed adventure park.
